Before you buy

Within a price band most gaming headsets sound much the same for games, and the microphone is usually what separates them. What you are really choosing between is whether your teammates can stand listening to you, how the headset feels in hour three, and whether the wireless connection is genuinely reliable.

Wired is cheaper, has no battery to die mid-match, and adds no latency. Wireless is easier to live with day to day, and worth the premium if you move around while you play, but check what wireless means on the box: a dedicated 2.4GHz dongle behaves very differently from Bluetooth for competitive play. If you wear glasses, check clamp force and earcup depth too.

These guides lean on microphone samples and testing published by others rather than on marketing claims, alongside manufacturer specifications and verified buyer reviews. We have not worn any of them. Headband and hinge failures get flagged.
