Boilerplate
Short. Before You Buy Guide is an independent buying-guide site that compares published lab results, specifications and owner reviews to rank what is worth buying, publishes every price as a re-verified range, and logs every correction in public.
Long. Before You Buy Guide (beforeyoubuyguide.com) publishes independent buying guides and head-to-head comparisons across eleven departments, from kitchen appliances and smart-home gear to baby products and gifts. It does not try products itself; each guide compiles published lab results, manufacturer specifications, safety-standards data and owner reviews, and says so. Every recommended product carries a price range re-verified on a recurring sweep, published together as a free-to-cite Price Index. Corrections are logged publicly and never quietly scrubbed. The site launched in July 2026 and is funded by affiliate commissions; there is no paid placement.
The data
The Price Index holds the current price range for every recommended product, grouped by department, with the median recommended price per department and the share of picks under $25 and $50. It is free to cite with a link back; no permission needed. A machine-readable copy is at /wp-json/byb/v1/finder. For a custom cut (by department, by price band), email us.
