Before You Buy Guide is reader-supported. This page explains exactly how we make money, in plain language, as required by the FTC’s endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).
How it works
When you click certain links on this site and then buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. The price you pay is identical either way. These are called affiliate links.
We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We also participate in affiliate programs operated by other retailers and brands.
What this does and doesn’t affect
- It doesn’t affect which products we recommend, their order, or what we say about them. Our process is described in How We Choose.
- It doesn’t affect your price.
- It does keep this site running without paywalls, sponsored rankings, or selling your data.
Identifying affiliate links
Assume any link to a retailer or product page on this site is an affiliate link. Each article carries a disclosure notice at the top.
